darshe,
Your experience is very typical of the feedback I got from other Realtors. Yes, you are in for the duration I'm afraid, but, here is something that may help. After getting tired of dealing with people who said "we didn't submit the request. it must have been my kids fooling around on the computer" et.al. , I stopped trying to return leads using the "Lead Return" function. Instead, I called them directly and explained the circumstances. More often than not, they deleted the lead and replaced it.
Also, you can call and change your area. HOWEVER, be very, very, VERY careful. They will try to renew your contract when you change. Get repeated verbal verifications that the contract is not to be renewed and make them send you the revised contract which shows the same expiration date and the change in venue. Don't be afraid to call once a month to make sure everything is still in order.
As to MarcoQuinto's comment, Forbes magazine rated the Washington State area (specifically Seattle) as the hotest market in the country with median prices at over $380K, up over 12% from a year ago. Its no suprise that his JL system works.
